According to media reports, on December 9, the domestic lithium battery manufacturer Dejia Energy issued a notice announcing that due to the continuous rise in upstream raw material prices and increased battery production costs, the company has decided to raise the prices of its battery product series by 15% starting from December 16. On the same day, Funeng Technology also revealed to the market that the company is communicating with customers about price increases, and some products have already seen price hikes. It further stated, "Currently, the prices of some raw materials have risen, coupled with continuously expanding market demand. The increase in lithium battery prices is an industry trend."
Industry experts predict that, under the dual opportunities of exploding energy storage demand and the global energy transition, Chinese lithium battery enterprises—leveraging their technological and production capacity advantages—will further enhance their global industrial influence and reshape the competitive landscape of the global industry.
Data from Qichacha shows that since 2022, the annual decline in new registrations of lithium battery-related enterprises in China has been narrowing year by year. As of December 11, 2025, China has registered 422 new lithium battery-related enterprises, surpassing the total for the entire year of 2024 and representing a 22.0% increase compared to the same period in 2024. In terms of existing enterprises, China currently has 17,000 lithium battery-related companies. Regionally, the largest proportion is in South China, accounting for 40.6%. Regarding the age of enterprises, the lithium battery sector in China is dominated by established companies, with those operating for over 10 years accounting for 23.5%.
China's lithium battery industry entered a period of adjustment starting in 2020. Since 2022, the year-on-year decline in the number of newly registered lithium battery-related enterprises in China has been narrowing. As of December 11, 2025, a total of 422 new lithium battery-related enterprises have been registered in China, surpassing the total for the entire year of 2024 and representing a 22.0% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
As of December 11, there are 17,000 existing lithium battery-related enterprises in China. In terms of regional distribution, South China hosts the largest proportion of such enterprises, accounting for 40.6%, followed by East China with 31.5%, while Northwest China has the smallest share at 2.8%.
In terms of establishment duration, China's lithium battery sector is predominantly composed of established enterprises. Over 80% of these companies have been operating for more than five years, among which those established for over a decade account for 23.5%.
